MEET OUR TEAM

Bordered by the Gloucester River on one side and Mt Gangat on the other is Little Upton. With a nod to our Ulster heritage and the rather larger Upton in Co Antrim, we decided to plant our pecan orchards in 2012.

2013 saw the first planting of 450 trees. Two years later another 100, to replace those that perished in the drought of 2014. An irrigation system swiftly followed!

Five years on we had a handful of nuts. By the 2022 season it was a few hundred kilos and our learnings moved to how best to harvest without losing the friends we'd press-ganged to help!

Chef Lisa is busily concocting new recipes. Pecan butter came first, then pecan granola. We are now producing Pecan Oil with the help of Mark at Kootingal Pecans.
